Understanding Student Perspective on Immersion Experiences

Travelling has ever since a great way to learn more about the world. But when it comes to travelling many participants see it as site seeing or taking photos. The short term travel programs can leave you with deeper knowledge when done right, with a chance to explore a new place and appreciate a culture that you have been admiring from far. What would be better to learn about deep relationships, reconnecting to god and nature and building strong relations with the community. The immersion experience gives students a chance to create a different kind of experience while giving them an opportunity to become a member of the host community rather than an observer.

The way we perceive things and react is conditioned by our culture. By pursuing these travel opportunities students can understand their culture, values, beliefs and customs and allows them to explore opportunities and other forms of behavior shared by other cohort members. Immersion experience for students can open doors to a deeper understanding of the unfamiliar. Whilst the students can never know a place as intimately as from the people living there, through this experience they can begin to understand everything a little better.

Preserving faith:

The immersive travel experiences can be of great help when many of the students can be struggling in the face of globalization. It will give them an opportunity to meet with communities across, share their culture with other members rather than leaving their homes to find work in big cities. This will help them remember the worth of their traditional views which are sometimes put down in favor of an urban lifestyle and will make them more enthusiastic. This travel experience can be vital in ensuring that social, traditional and cultural customs stay alive for future generations.

Creating meaningful relationships with community:

The immersion program focuses on cultural awareness by travel as it helps in cultivating an environment that is more responsive to diversity. When students surround them within the community and culture of the place, they can create connections by living with the locals, helping out on their farms and or simply sharing their experiences and beliefs. The more they try to seek out to understand cultures and beliefs, the more likely they understand the significance to the place they belong to.

Gaining real world experience:

One of the things that would stay with the students from the traveling trip would be gaining the experience and building creative power of empathy within them. Too often students focus more on the problems, pain points and limitations of a system and all that comes from a negative mindframe. With travel experience they will be able to understand the situation through the eyes of someone else. Just living in that environment would give them a great perspective on social, cultural and environmental contexts. The students will be able to understand the aspects of humanity and articulate their connection with god and extend the teachings to everyone.

Deep knowledge:

Getting multiple perspectives will help them understand the complexities of the issue while they will be able to decide on the basis of their direct experience on this adventure of self-discovery. They will learn to empower themselves by going in depth and seeking answers.
